Objective: To analyze the difficulties in obtaining health utility values (HUVs) of Chinese from the literature and pro- pose targeted solutions by drawing on experience in guidelines issued in other countries, providing a reference for efficient searching HUVs of Chinese. Methods: Using the literature analysis method, the current situation and problems of acquiring HUVs from the litera- ture in China are analyzed in conjunction with the guideline recommendations, supplemented with case studies to analyze the prob- lems and make feasible recommendations in an operational order. Results: Compared with countries where HUVs researches are more mature, the problems of HUVs researches in China lie in less literature, more secondary citation, and non-uniform use of value sets. HUVs should be obtained by the need of the study, improved applicability to the current status of HUVs research in China by adjust- ing the search strategy, developing evaluation criteria, designing data extraction forms. Conclusion: International guidelines are avail- able for China, but given the current state of HUVs research in China, researchers need to make timely adjustments accordingly. The recommendations will help researchers to obtain HUVs in Chinese target populations more quickly and accurately.
