Since its naissance，with its highly interdisciplinary nature，Amartya Sen’s capabilities approach is deeply favored by academic community and being further improved due to Martha Nussbaum’s enormous contribution，and it has been emphasized and researched by some health economists，thereby it is of great significance in the health economics field.The paper briefly introduces the development of Sen’s capabilities approach and illustrates its applied research in health economics.
